What we need to do, I think, is to start paying more attention to what our friends and neighbors and the people on FaceBook and wherever are doing and start learning that it's okay to get people help when they need it. You're not going to go through all that for a stranger, but a lot of people had to know he'd left the land of the sane. It's not easy, but it might help in some cases.
