Biggest lie said or done in the Army?

Captain Rodney "Wrongway" Markham on a trek through the Alaska tundra, earning his forever nickname, with "We turn south here," and took his support company eight hard klicks to the north. Then had to take them back the eight klicks, then another six klicks to reach the rally point.

He was trying to punish his 1SG for some imagined insult.

The 1SG, CSM, Wrongway, and the commander, LTC Leavitt, had a long talk that night.

Little lies intended to get the job done are a dime a dozen. The big lies are the problem. MacArthur's claim that the "Chinese communists were nowhere near the Yalu River" was perhaps the biggest lie that got the most people killed in the last half of the 20th century.

Actually it was Bush's lie that go the most people killed in the first part of our century.

What lie, Jake?

No lie, hossfly.

I knew there were no WMDs as Bush was describing in 2002.

"Pack a lunch pussies ... We are still gonna be running at noon" ... Which was kind of funny in a female unit when he realized what he had said.

A bunch of people lied to him and misled him. I don't think he himself lied. That said, I believe there were WMDs and Saddam shipped them out. They're still around somewhere.

What exactly was Bush's "lie" and how did congressional authorization of a Military mission compare to Truman's executive order that got 50,000 Americans killed in three years? Is it about media perspective?

Heh-heh, you should have heard one of the first female drill Sargents in my basic training company..She gave them fellows hell, whilst screaming about how the shoe was on the other foot for you Chauvinistic pigs..She burned them boys almost everyday and gave them the funky cockroach until they collapsed from fatigue...

My SFC could not read a compass or a map..Too many years in maintenance till Reagan turned us into a spit shine dog and pony well trained dog face......Before it was all MASH. We had beer dispensers in the day room and it was demanded you drink beer at least to prove what a man you were..........Capt's orders.......

God help us when draftees criticize Reagan at the same time they complain about having to drink too much beer.

I had a PSG who claimed he was once a porn star.
That wasn't the worst lie I heard, but definitely one of the most memorable.
To tell the truth the whole US army is full of lies and pulling leg.
Especially I was very upset by this "Don't tell don;t ask" principle.

I just saw no value in polishing boots everyday......

"There is no such thing as hazing in the Army ... It will not be tolerated" ... Yeah, whatever ... I wonder what Army that fucker was in.

The drills our platoon had were pretty kewl guys, they were young and the SFC was a blck fellow that told us that as long as we did what was ask there would be no harrassment or physical punishments, The platoon carried honors all through basic and he held to his work.. The SGT would use Pink Floyd's song where alarm bells are ringing to wake us everyday..And they were generally nice guys, cause every other platoon had major assholes for drills. hell at bivouac when running he would pull us to the side at tell us the strategy for the day against other platoons for night raids...
