Biden To Attempt To Shoot Down Chinese Spy Balloon Today To Capture And Study It

It was nice of Chicom Joe to let Xi fly his balloon across the entire US and over all our sensitive military installations before having the military shoot it down.

He is clearly owned by the Chicoms.

So... How did that "capture" go?

You've probably heard the term "capture dead or alive." Looks like they've captured it dead. It's in 50 feet of water, so retrieval should be easy.

Jim

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson’s Remarks on US Annoucement of the Postponement of Secretary of State Blinken’s Visit to China

2023-02-04 10:21

Q: On February 3, senior US State Department officials said at a briefing via teleconference that due to the entry of a Chinese unmanned airship into US airspace, US Secretary of State Blinken has decided to postpone his planned trip to China. Do you have any comment?
A: Regarding the unintended entry of a Chinese unmanned airship into US airspace due to force majeure, the Chinese side has verified it and communicated it to the US side. It is a civilian airship used for research, mainly meteorological, purposes. Affected by the Westerlies and with limited self-steering capability, the airship deviated far from its planned course. This is entirely an unexpected situation caused by force majeure and the facts are very clear. China always acts in strict accordance with international law and respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries. We have no intention to violate and has never violated the territory or airspace of any sovereign country. Some politicians and media in the US have hyped it up to attack and smear China. The Chinese side is firmly opposed to that.
Maintaining contact and communication at all levels is an important common understanding reached by the Chinese and US presidents at their meeting in Bali. One of the tasks of the diplomatic teams on both sides is to properly manage bilateral relations, particularly to manage some unexpected situations in a cool-headed and prudent manner. In fact, neither side has ever announced that there would be a visit. It is a matter for the US to make its latest announcement, and we respect that.

I can't find any real quote from a defence department official stating what Lakhota claims was stated.

There are claims it was stated, but no quote, and no names. Like this...

The link above seems to insinuate that Secretary Austin said it, but that does not seem to be true.

Here is Defense Secretary Austin's statement...

No mention of it occurring under Trump.

Other news reports claim "According to a senior defense department official." Those are normally BS, made up by some reporter who spoke with a janitor.

Please provide an official source for the statement Lakhota. Tweets don't count unless they come from the DOD. Thanks.
