It's not difficult to provide decent healthcare for all if we understand that health is central to human happiness and well-being. Economic productivity as well as all human accomplishments is dependent on the health of the people. Your health, the health of your family, your neighbors, and people you don't know effects you. The average American spends more money on entertainment and eating at restaurants than they spend on healthcare.I think both sides have been responsible for the major failure in Obamacare, higher premiums. Democrats deluded themselves that the mandate and subsides would bring premiums down. They were wrong. Republicans are responsible for keeping premiums high by refusing to pass Democrat efforts in increase subsidies and instead repealing the mandate which just ma the problem worse.I couldn't agree more. But the sheep will never understand it. Medicare is barely sustainable now. They use employee contributions via Medicare deductions, and FICA--the second highest tax out of your paycheck.
So they get into power, and even with an all Democrat government, tell certain members--those nearly at retirement age or in a very safe Democrat districts to vote against it. Then they can say they tried. But the truth is, they don't want Medicare for all either. They want Medicare for all to get into power. Then when it fails to pass, the MSM will help them out by publishing it was all the Republicans fault, even though they had no majority in the House or Senate. I mean......they are still blaming Republicans for the huge failure of Commie Care.
Congress, neither republican nor democrat has any taste for another healthcare reform. Republicans want to do away with Obamacare and democrats want to fix it.
Republicans had nothing to do with it. Every single one voted against it. What Democrats are doing is blame shifting. If it was a success, they'd never stop talking about how great it was and Republicans wanted nothing to do with it. But now that we see it was a failure, they are trying to pin the blame on Republicans.
Getting rid of the mandate was one of the best things Republicans ever did. Nobody who lives in a free country should be forced to buy anything the government demands. The Democrats are always talking about how they are for the poor and middle-class, but if you don't buy their healthcare plan, they keep your income tax refund, and most of the people that can't afford it need that money the most.I find it very amusing that a republican congress who had sworn to repeal Obamacare could not do it, even when they controlled both houses and the oval office. Of course, everyone knows the truth, they had nothing to offer to replace it. And rather than repealing Obamacare and being saddled with a crash in the healthcare sector, they repealed the mandate hoping that would satisfy their supporters. However, what they really did is join democrats in pushing healthcare premiums higher convincing more Americans that Medicare for All would be a better plan than Obamacare or the nothing plan from Republicans.I think both sides have been responsible for the major failure in Obamacare, higher premiums. Which only goes to show you how difficult it is to provide decent care for everybody. Our healthcare system is loaded with piles of paperwork from the government in order to make it work. It's not that we need ten thousand regulations, but we have to give bureaucrats something to do.
If you have a weak, unstable building, you don't add another floor to it. It has to be ripped down to the footer and rebuilt the proper way. That was the idea of getting rid of Commie Care. It didn't work for most people. The lie about the ACA is in the very first letter--Affordable.

That's because with most people on private healthcare plans, it is provided by their employer.
