Not exactly a lion of the Senate. Sounds more like a place holder that kept his state constituency placated, rather than one who builds coalitions to push legislation to effect positive change and improvement.

Whether liberal Democrat or fire breathing radical right, Who stays in representative government as long as he has been an effect force for pushing legislation supported by both sides, and supporting legislation started by both sides, for as long as he has been there, without becoming a millionaire? Those guys have investment plans, same as the rest of us. Who is so dumb they could make their income for that long, with common sense personal finance management and not come out a millionaire. This is the year 2020. A million ain't really that much. Certainly does not make you a member of the 1 to 2 Percent really that made it big.
