Ben Carson backs raising minimum wage

Flip Flopping On The Minimum Wage: In a move that moderators failed to call him on, Ben Carson said he is opposed to raising the minimum wage – saying it would harm workers (which is false). But Carson has supported raising the wage for months; it appears he decided to change his mind and pretend he never supported doing so."

Kinda funny that Clinton raised minimum wage and the economy created more jobs than any republican in history. I admit he had some luck, but the sky didn't fall as all the corporate tools on the right claimed - as they did then too.

Yes, the economy typically goes up when the minimum wage goes up. The non-skilled? Not so much.
Like I said, only a moron would support this FOOLS PARTY

why not solve simple poverty and capitalism's natural rate of unemployment via a form of minimum wage?
Minimum wage hikes hurt the non-skilled. The poor will be poorer. Why not solve the actual problem?
Why not focus on jobs, inflation and the FED? Why not focus on making the govt MANAGABLE and get rid of all those regulations that keep people from their ambition?

because we are not a totalitarian regime that can simply order the private sector to hire people? why not simply solve for simple poverty and a natural rate of capital unemployment, with merely sufficient socialism, like usual.

Who said anything about force? We have to make it to where they want to hire people.
Please show me where minimum wage has actually helped the poor.
See, I did some digging a few months ago. I researched 4 states that raised their minimum wage. I found out the overall economy goes up a smidgen, and the GDP of the non-skilled(poor) goes DOWN.

No one is going to hire some dumb, non-skilled person 15 bucks an hour to flip burgers. That is just fuckin common sense.

Another misinformed liberal OP. Carson has always said he opposes a blanket/across-the-board increase in the minimum wage. He said the same thing last night that he's said before: that he supports raising the minimum wage for certain age groups but not across the board, and he explained his perfectly reasonable rationale for that position.

The Carson Derangement Syndrome that we see among liberals is amazing, and almost amusing.

Still no one asked Carson about Christmas, or why he lied again--on the matter of Minimum Wage. He wants to create a dialogue about it, with millions already in the streets about it(?), and state elections having created raises of it, in the Midterms(?). The candidacy appears more like something that may have been launched from Mars, right after a mass kitten clubbing, soon after castrating an entire ninth grade class. It is way to busy to be paying any attention to national issues.

With fewer millions likely viewing, nobody bothered to even bring Carson up. None of that seemed to matter(?).

"Crow, James Crow: Shaken, Not Stirred!"
(Maybe Next Carson Move--Bury Executive Staff of American Medical Association, in Fire Ant Hills(?)!

why not solve for simple poverty and the economic effects of a natural rate of unemployment?

"We're not a totalitarian regime"
"Let's force employers to pay people more than they are worth while destroying the poor"

public policy constitutes public use; why not solve for simple poverty and the economic effects of a natural rate of unemployment? actually solving social dilemmas too difficult for the right?

It isn't

it isn't solving any kind of poverty. Actually solving ANY problem is a dilemma for both sides. And is quite evident in this thread.

Only an ignorant moron would support minimum wage hikes

Depends on why the support it. I'm starting to favor raising the minimum wage. I'm tired of trying to explain the folly of it to morons. I say, let's raise the minimum wage, and stand ready with the "I told you so" signs.

not for some on the federal left; who may subscribe to the federal doctrine regarding public policy initiatives.

we have a federal doctrine regarding employment at will; and, we also have State laws regarding the concept of employment at will.

Thus, we have the legal framework for solving simple poverty and capitalism's natural rate of unemployment on an at-will basis in our at-will employment States.

"“I think, probably, it should be higher than now,” Carson told CNBC’s John Harwood in an interview Friday."

That's it? One quote pulled away from its context. Weak.
