Maybe this will force couch-potato Americans to rise up against Federal over-regulation!

The driver pulls his big rig in front of Widmer Brothers brewery in North Portland two or three times a day, opens the silo chute and fills up the 48-foot-long trailer with a steamy, sloshy byproduct of the brewing process.

The spent grain is hauled to dairy farms in the area, giving local cows a high-protein, high-fiber feed. In turn, the process allows Widmer to recycle its waste.

This relationship, common among brewers and farmers in Oregon and across the country, is centuries old. But it’s come under threat by a proposal from the Food and Drug Administration.

If the government can make cattle ranching expensive enough, they can drive the ranchers out of business and achieve the UN goal of making everyone vegan.

I'm all for preventing food poisoning, but there should be a provable case of a person being sickened through the use of this as animal feed. Why do these bureaucrats have to invent problems?

Oh yeah...

It justifies their salaries and power grabs.

If brewers have to put perfectly good grain in the landfill they will make up the losses someplace.
