BCBS / ATENA Leaving excahnges this year. 35 million to be without ins...

If these insurance companies are leaving the exchanges because they can't make enough money,

how on earth can Trump and the GOP pass a healthcare bill that they claim will make insurance even CHEAPER?????

Who's going to provide that insurance? These companies?? WTF?

Risk corridors and CSR's are the reason they're leaving the exchanges.
Leaving the exchanges doesn't mean they will not offer health insurance.

The risk corridor was suppose to cover insurance companies with large claims from the pre existing crowd, without going into a long explanation the GOP senate would not fund it I believe in either last year or year before budget, therefore leaving the risk corridor monies very short and what was promised to insurance companies to play in obamacare was not paid. Just about everyone blames Rubio for this, he pushed like hell to defund.

Forward to 2018 plan year and CSR's, cost share reduction on silver plans, are in limbo. Really for the rest of this year and next. Trump was suppose to give an answer yes or no May 22nd, well the answer was we'll let you know in 90 days.

CSR's are tied to what your percentage of federal poverty level is. Depending on FPL you could see your deductible and co pays go down to practically nothing, this is known as the CSR and very low or no premium. Anyway the insurance companies will take a beating without the CSR's if stopped for the remainder of this year and next year those same low cost silver plans will rise and those same people will not be able to afford insurance and all those large claims that insurance companies have been paying and yet have to pay most certainly will make them lose money.

ACA might just have worked if all parts were funded correctly instead of the GOP continued hatred for it, plus it needed to be tweaked. If anyone remembers the ACA was very close and actually mirrored Mitt Romney's plan. Newt Ginrich while in congress tried to also introduce a bill very similar.

If you've been following McConnell it seems like he is finally hearing Kentuckians and realizes his state will be one of the hardest hit if ACA goes away.
