This is tech first invented during the 1980's and slowly put into a production aircraft much later.
I personally witnessed the later iterations of the stealth missiles being tested in wind tunnels in the early 2000's. Similar to what the UK has given to Ukraine and Ukraine has used them to great success.
They shot all sorts of radar at them then and they were invisible then. These even have a greatly reduced heat signature....the only way you know that they were there is when stuff begins to explode.
