Perhaps unionized AA should take a good hard look at non-union SW...

"The White House Auto Task Force and its Czar spared UAW the dismay and outrage of renegotiated union pay scales, revised work rules, and loss of defined-benefit pensions that American Airlines union members face. Americans anticipated fifteen percent job loss is about the same as GMs, but without a dime of taxpayer money. Obama did not save GM jobs, he saved UAW pay scales and pensions. UAW members left their jobs with a $25,000 new car and $20,000 cash. (Chrysler employees left with much more). Laid-off American Airlines pilots, mechanics and flight attendants will likely leave with little or nothing."

Are we supposed to be applauding Bain for that?
From the link:
"Bain Capital is a private equity firm, which was founded by a group of Bain & Co. partners including current Republican presidential frontrunner Mitt Romney. Romney formally retired from Bain Capital in 1999 but still continues to receive a portion of Bain Capital profits as Romneys 2010 tax returns show an obligation to continue to provide services to Bain.

A... link?
B... Does Romney still work for Bain?
Sure no problemo... should have included it in the OP..
Romney
No ...he just gets income from his former firm. He doesn't have to lift a finger to profit from the misery of others any more.
Thanks, I'll review the link.
So, when someone leaves a firm, they should give up any and all future compensation because that firm might do something you disagree with? Interesting concept.
EDIT:
clicked the link and this is the title of the piece (I noticed you avoided posting it in your link...)
Romneys Firm Instructs American Airlines to Sack 13,000 Workers
It's not 'Romney's firm'. He used to work there, but not now. Calling it 'his firm' is simply a political attack.

He started the company...he is obligated to consult the company...he gets paid by the company... In what way pray tell is it NOT his company?

you are naive to separation packages....especailly when it is with a founder of a firm.
First...he gets paid by them as that was his deal when he sold out. Such is not abnormal. He will likely get paid by them for years to come.
"obligated to consult the company" is legal terminology that is really saying "you are obligated to NOT consuilt with a competitor"
He is not consulting with them, for them or on their behalf.
Mitt Romney: he made money for his partners and investors while saving or creating tens of thousands of American jobs...is this really the kind of man you want in the White House?
Vote Obama 2012: More Hope and More Change, except maybe this time it will be for the better.

How many did he put out of work? How many lost thier pensions in the "Bain" butchering of so many companies assets?
Ya... His company will be a HUGE asset in the presidential election..

13,000 is a PITTANCE, compared to the 350,000+ people PER WEEK that are filing for FIRST TIME unemployment benefits.
American Airlines is in big trouble, just like MANY airlines. And it's all Mitt Romney's fault, or at least according to the leftist moonbats in here. Funny, but sad.
