Assigning the blame for mass Shootings

When a drunk crashes his car and kills somebody. We hold accountable the person driving the car. Not the car.

But when a mentally deranged individual uses a gun to shoot several people in a church or school. The media and many people blame the gun.

Both a car and a gun are inanimate mechanical devices, which require a person to operate them.

So why the disparity of assigning the blame?? ......

Because we know that it's much easier for a person to shoot someone from a distance than to stab or strangle them.

Because we know that a shooter can snuff out dozens of lives in mere moments by doing little more than squeezing a trigger.

Because we know that a person who has not been declared mentally deranged can take a gun and mow people down.

Because we know that a person with a gun, or even a bag of guns, can easily perpetrate the crime where cars cannot go.

The same reason the aliens call for repealing the First Amendment. Apparently, they don't like when people speak the truth. They pretty much neutered Europe's "free speech."

it all boils down to whether a couple hundred or more deaths of innocents a year in the USA , a country populated by over 310 million [not counting illegals] is worth the RIGHT of Americans to be armed .

It's because people want to simplify the world down to a single variable since they are unable to understand the complexity of the phenomenon in question.

This goes for any debate with two polarized sides and is true for both sides.
