Death is part of war, if you have no stomach for it then don't support the military or the govt. The main reason that it is good to keep on in Afghanistan is that we are next to Iran, and have a better launching point to hit Iran with air and missle attacks, or a land invasion. You know that Iran is very nervous having US forces and bases on two sides of them.

Well that was their life to lead, not mine. I never spat upon any soldiers at any time in my life. I was utterly suprised when I was thank by my service by other vets, we(the vast majority) have never lost our honor amongst oursleves, because we have special bond, a brotherhood, no matter whom they may vote for, we don't measure a service member in those terms, only you civies do.
I also have guided my cousins and children into military service. I am the oldest and i led by example of what a good citizen does to support the country.
people have been dying in Afghanistan just like they die inthe US, it is part of boing in the military. One of the first things you are told and sing while running and marching is the knowledge that you can and will die while inservice and a body bag is waiting for you.
The death is glorious in the honor of serving.
