Antarctic Sea Ice

What deep mystery of mother nature did you think we were missing? What drives the seasons?

Yeah, I've noticed that. Looking for credible sources to try and understand what's going on

I not sure who is a credible source, but I am certain that anyone who claims to understand absolutely what is occurring, is not a credible source. Climate is an extremely complex system with 1000's of variables, and you can be sure that most people do not have a clue about it. If anybody can't tell you off the top of their head why it is warming in the summer than the winter, they should not even begin to try and discuss climate change. If you google the answer to that question, please don't weigh in on climate change.
Im not really looking for a simple answer but more so links to data and analysis to credible studies, scientists, institutions... Also, a good discussion debate amongst us laymen can sometimes lead to healthy results

Miami Beach could be underwater this century. The sea level around the tourist paradise has risen steadily in recent decades and flooding in the streets has become more frequent and severe. Most of the city sits just four to five feet above sea level, and on a foundation of porous limestone—making it especially susceptible to tidal flooding and surging oceans.

As experts predict the sea level to rise significantly in the coming years, the city of Miami Beach must decide how to keep itself afloat. This documentary examines how the city has taken unprecedented steps to save itself from the sea.

Is Miami Beach Doomed?

Looks like someone is caring to the tune of many, many millions of dollars.

Anybody know the story on whats going on with the Temperature and Ice levels in Antarctica?
Between sensor malfunctions and hodge/podge algorithm changes there isn't much that is credible any more.. At either pole.. Many of us now resort to private satellites and simple grid processing of data to obtain rough estimates. The agenda driven outputs of governments is all over the damn place. In-filling of temps has created a warming bias, not reflected in real temperatures, by almost +2 deg C. Not much is real anymore..

Riiiight.

Time Warner is so a-scared of rising sea levels they just spend over $1 billion to relocate to Hudson Yards, right on the waterfront

I see. All the governments are in on a conspiracy to fool us all, correct Frankie Boi? Somehow it sounds more likely that the scientists are just reporting the evidence they see, and people like you are full of shit.

Consensus is not a scientific term, it's a word used by Cultists.

Scientists are always one failed experiment away from having to propose an entirely new, theory; Cultists never have that worry

I don't see many reports and papers written that talk about the most cost effective ways to reduce global warming. Some people want to spend hundreds of billions on projects like high speed rail and alternative energy companies that are not economically viable, is it too much to ask to find cheaper ways to address the problem?

Q. How much must we reduce CO2 in order to stop Manmade global warming?

A. $15 Trillion

Then you need to do more reading

Try the fifth assessment report of IPCC Working Group III, "Mitigation of Climate Change"

IPCC - Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change

Given that wind and solar are now both cheaper than dirty coal, and grid scale storage is already being installed, and will get cheap very fast, the cost factor of trying to keep existing coal plants in operation is what looks like an economic loser.

A German blog, No Trick Zone, has links to hundreds of recent papers on a variety of climate topics. Skews skeptical. McIntyre's Climate Audit has lots of searchable technical info. It has been fallow of late but there is huge amount archived.

Another tranche of papers yesterday at No Tricks Zone.

Stenni 2017 might be interesting to you.

Rosenthal 2017, an update from his paper a few years ago, just keeps getting scarier as more and more evidence piles up that OHC is dropping toward the next ice age and our interglacial is coming to an end.

Do you watch NOVA? Check this out, it doesn't answer your question but by watching it, it provides a good reference as to why single data points are so misleading:

Arctic Ghost Ship — NOVA | PBS

If interested, here's the link (it is much more interesting than anything you might read on this message board in the next 50 minutes or so):

OK, Ian. Numbers please. When can we expect this rapid cooling to begin? We see numbers from the warming camp, how about some from the cooling camp. And guess which camp has the record for accuracy.

What a load of shit rocks...20 years ago you guys told us that the rapid and unprecedented warming was going to start any day...and made a slew of catastrophic predictions of what we could expect...two decades later, we are still waiting....

In so far as the long term and short term cooling trend, here are some graphs from recent papers as opposed to the tired old failed steaming piles you rely on.. It is clear that when one looks at the long term, what you call global warming is really nothing more than a slowing of the cooling trend...which is a great thing.

I gave you the name of the paper and where to find the graphs. We have discussed Rosenthal's previous paper which is essentially the same.

Ocean heat content has been going down for thousands of years. The conclusion is obvious.

Do I believe this proxy reconstruction? Maybe the general direction if not the absolute numbers. I have little interest in the modern portion if it is simply instrumental measurements grafted on to make a hockey stick rather then the same proxies run to as close a recent time as possible.
