Red states are more charitable than blue states.

Red states give more money to charity than blue states, according to a new study on Monday. The eight states with residents who gave the highest share of their income to charity supported Sen. John McCain http://www.politico.com/tag/john-mccainn 2008, while the seven states with the least generous residents went for President Barrack Obama,http://www.politico.com/2012-election/barack-obama/index.html the Chronicle of Philanthropy found in its new survey of tax data http://philanthropy.com/article/The-Politics-of-Giving/133609/from the IRS for 2008.
The eight states whose residents gave the highest share of their income — Utah, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Idaho, Arkansas and Georgia — all backed McCain in 2008. Utah leads charitable giving, with 10.6 percent of income given.
And the least generous states — Wisconsin, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire — were Obama supporters in the last presidential race. New Hampshire residents gave the least share of their income, the Chronicle stated, with 2.5 percent.

It's the old song and dance.

How many of those charities involve the church?

Most of the charitable giving is done by religious people. So?
The reason is most religious people are also Practical people in that most give because they have learned it makes them feel better to give.
Non religious people are generally not as ambitious and definitely not as smart.
Oh they think they are by supposedly using "education" as their crutch but when it is all said and done and you're laying in the ground most religious people KNOW there are just two possibilities:
1) either there is life after death so therefore the religious smart person was right OR
2) there is nothing which the stupid non-religious person believes.

Which posibility will know they were right?

Amazing how people of faith contribute to charity more. You'd think it was part of their religion or something:)

I don't think it's really amazing, but it seems that it is what it is.

Something tells me there are varying personal explanations for that phenomenon.

Which is one of the many reasons religion is important.

Many like to punch their tickets to heaven with donations to churches.

Red states, especially those listed, tend to be on the religious side.
So what if they are?

Lolberals think they're punching their tickets by paying their taxes and voting for socialist politicians to do all the heavy lifting.

I'm not the one trying to be confrontational, maybe you should ask yourself. I'm stating what I believe the cause to be.

Way do dodge the question.

So what if the states that give the most tend to be more religious?

Well, you've got a test case in Joe Biden.

He donates nothing....almost zip.

What does his op have to do with the confused assertion that religious charity doesn't count as charity?

Do you think the poor people give a shit whether the food and clothes and medical attention they receive is provided by atheists or christians?

It appears only progressives give a shit. Which isn't surprising. It appears our board progressives think that charity should be withheld if it is inspired by faith and a desire to abide by the strictures of the Bible?

It's odd that the most wealthy, least religious people are also the people who appear to not give a fuck about the poor.

What a shocker.

I love watching all the knee-jerk reactions to my comment.
