The south solidly voted for Goldwater (pro segregationist) who openly stated he was against the civil rights bill instead of LBJ who was a democrat and going to push the bill as a way for what JFK did to get the ball rolling

They also vote solidly for George Wallace in 1968 who was also a pro segregationist

I guess finally they figured that it was best to go republican after what the democrats did

And that is the thanks the democrats get for the farm subsidizes that FDR started

But it was Bush who took it to new levels

And don't leave out 1948, when half the South went for Thurmond, as Trent Lott was so good as to remind us.

The Party of Lincoln was considered unthinkable in the South for 99 years until the aforementioned Thurmond broke the ice by doing the unthinkable and switching to that party in 1964 after he couldn't stop the CRA. So he figured, take "drastic" action to improve his chances.

    Sorry bout that,

    1. Blacks are low iq, will they vote for their own interests?
    2. Not very likely on the whole.
