Abraham Lincoln invaded the South to free the black Americans that were being held as slaves by the Democrats and denied citizenship as well as basic human rights. The things is, leftists don't believe in a literal interpretation of things such as "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Leftists even back then felt they had to "deconstruct" the text and re-interpret it to mean whatever justified their degenerate goals. Things haven't changed so much as they've stayed the same.

Donald Trump ended the practice of sentencing Americans to prison for minor drug offenses, which was devastating the family structure in inner city neighborhoods and keeping them dependent on the government. Next, Trump will put a conservative judge on the Supreme Court in order to end the slaughter of helpless children, something Abraham Lincoln undoubtedly would have done as well. Both men put their country first. Abraham Lincoln ended slavery while still keeping the union together. Today, Donald Trump is ending the left's struggle that seeks to undermine America's cultural values as well as our sense of national identity and he's finally putting an end to the left's incessant war to divide Americans into warring factions along the lines of race, sexual orientation, or any other multitude of divisive categories they can use to use to try and further their agenda.

Who overwhelmingly voted for Barry Goldwater in 64 who notably was against the civil rights act of 1964

The 1964 bill was first proposed by Kennedy in June 11, 1963

Lincoln may have freed the slave but segregation was a way of life

The south was segregated back in those days with many segregationist politicians who supported it

the "Southern Bloc" of 18 southern Democratic Senators and one Republican Senator (D-GA) launched a to prevent its passage

It eventually passed and the South voted solid repub every since except Florida which took awhile

The south hated Abe and I cannot see the comparison
between the two being a talking point.

Jimmy Carter won all those states as late as 1976.

And that is the thanks the democrats get for the farm subsidizes that FDR started

But it was Bush who took it to new levels

And don't leave out 1948, when half the South went for Thurmond, as Trent Lott was so good as to remind us.

The Party of Lincoln was considered unthinkable in the South for 99 years until the aforementioned Thurmond broke the ice by doing the unthinkable and switching to that party in 1964 after he couldn't stop the CRA. So he figured, take "drastic" action to improve his chances.
