Yet another violent end, courtesy of the "We just want to exist and live our lives" crowd.
This is what happens when you mix mental illness with firearms, folks.
"Two women were found dead Monday in an apparent murder-suicide at a northwest Harris County apartment complex, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies discovered the women inside of the apartment around 12:15 p.m., located in the 11200 block of West Road, but said they may have been dead since Saturday.
The women, who haven’t been identified, were 23- and 27-years-old, HCSO said.
Deputies got called to the Derby at Steeplechase Apartments just before 6 p.m. on Saturday evening when neighbors reported hearing gunfire. One neighbor had a bullet fly through their apartment wall.
“They weren’t really sure where the bullet came from at that point,” Sgt. Ben Beall said.
Deputies who responded tried to contact others who live in the same building and the leasing office, but didn’t have any luck, so they wrote a report and left, Sgt. Beall said.
“The only thing they didn’t do was force entry into the apartment, since they weren’t receiving an answer or anything,” Sgt. Beall said. “They didn’t want to make forced entry and then possibly you have a apartment that is unsecured at that point, and they weren’t really sure where the bullet came from at that point.”
But investigators got called back to the apartment complex Monday around 12:15 p.m.
The tenant who had a bullet enter their apartment contacted the leasing office, who contacted a courtesy officer, and then called the sheriff’s office.
“They actually jumped the fence and were able to see what looked to be a body on the floor inside the neighbor’s apartment,” Sgt. Beall said. “We’ve got probably four or five spent shell casings. We have some live rounds that were ejected, and we do have a pistol on the scene.”
Investigators could be seen removing a brown bag of evidence from the unit as the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office arrived to transport the bodies.
As investigators cleared the scene, they said family members of the two women had been contacted, who told them they may have been in a toxic relationship."
