Another Gulf rig is leaking...

Nuclear and we should pour more money into making fusion be stable. We can make it for a short time, but we need to make it stable. Once we can do that then free energy for all. TO HELL WITH SOLAR AND WIND POWER.

Ah yes. To hell with the individual. No power allowed except that which put money into the pockets of the major corperations.

Wind, solar, wave, slow current, and geo-thermal are the power of the future. 48% of the new generation in the US built in 2008 is wind. As the manufactures of thin film solar, using ink jet manufacturing methods, come on line with very high efficiency solar cells, solar will become the cheapest of all, and every homeowner will become both a consumer and producer of power.

Right now, the wheat farmers in Eastern Oregon are finally earning the money they deserve by leasing part of their land to the power companies, and earning royalties off of the power the mill produce. And they grow wheat right up to the bases of the mills.

What the fuck are you talking about? You can't have individual freedom if you rape commerce and shut down industry.

Right now, the farmers in Eastern Oregon (that's where I am, douchebag) are laughing their asses off. They're being paid big bucks to take their land out of wheat production and stick windmills on them. But the windmills don't produce enough energy to even break fucking even. The only way the windmills survive is through GOVERNMENT SUBSIDIES.

Solar energy does not work. People who have solar energy, with a huge amount of expense and effort, are able to produce a MINISCULE portion of their energy.

Oh sure, Allie, you silly person, solar does not work. How about 1.62 a watt for a whole 5 kw system?

Solar Panels from Wholesale Solar Renewable Energy

And what of the subsidies recieved by that the coal burning monstrosity at Boardman?

Sure the windmills don't work. That is why we have about two Gigawatts of wind power in Oregon now. 8% of our power comes from the mills. And in Iowa, they get 14% of their power from windmills. As soon as they get the power lines down to the Steens, they will be getting a lot more power from wind and geo-thermal. In fact, I think that the second line will come from K-Falls and tie in the the grid in California, and we will see Oregon become a major energy producer. Solar, solar thermal, wind, and geothermal, from K-Falls to the Idaho border, we have it in abundance.

Allie, learn to love the looks of solar and wind, you are going to see a lot more of both.

Soon, Oregon may be producing the cheapest and highest efficiency solar panels in the world. This company will be using what is basically an ink jet printing process to create solar cells.
