I found another CMP "Greek Return" M1903 Springfield yesterday. Cal. .30-06.

The stock is beat but solid and it has a buttery smooth action with nice metal/bore. It has a really good 3.5# trigger.

1929 action, rebarreled/refinished in or around 1942 given the 10-42 barrel date.

If it wasn't for the fact that the stock is numbered to the receiver (the Greeks did that) I'd drop it in the C-Stock of my other Greek return.

The sound of that 42 must have been TERRIFYING to guys who had to come against such emplacements. Hell, the modern M-60 doesn't match that firing rate, does it?
The last time I looked into an '03, the seller wanted about 1200 for it. I know it's a classic and still makes a decent sniper rifle, but damn...

$1200.00 is about the going rate for a decent uncut M1903 or 03A3....Primo examples up to $2500.00.

I gave $700.00 for this one due to the sorry lookin' stock but that was not a real issue to me as it was sound with no cracks. I was more impressed with it's smoothness and great trigger. Should make for a fine shooter.

New stocks (repros) can be had for well under $300.00 but I won't bother due to the rifle's pedigree.....It was sent to Greece to kill commies.

You can still find unissued USGI scant stocks but I don't care for them much.
