Ann Coulter summarizes Alex VanWeasle position

You know, this guy came here with his family, who were fleeing the Soviet Union when he was only 3. And, considering the rank that he attained in the US Army, I'd be willing to bet that he's been vetted several times via security investigations.

Calling his patriotism into doubt is beyond the pale.
Unless his name is Flynn. And it's not about Patriotism it's about his honestly .....try to keep up

He was being honest. He said that when he heard Trump pressure the president of Ukraine, he thought that it was an abuse of power. It was his opinion that was asked for, and he gave it honestly.

Yeah that's it......funny none of that is in the transcript

We have a First Lady who was raised in a Communist Country

Now we have the Conservative right attacking a man who left a communist country when he was three, was raised in this country and has served his country in the armed forces

The transcript that was released was a summary, and it didn't contain word for word conversations. The disclaimer was even on the first page of it. But, if you believe Trump and his lies, you think that the one that was released has all the information in it, and is word for word, typed by very good stenographers.

Well, he did state that he was worried how trumps policies would affect the Ukraine. So, who is he working for? Seems he is more worried about his homeland, than his new land.

What a piece of bullshit revisionism. I will give you the benefit of the doubt and just presume you didn't read Vindman's actual statement.
Show us here in Vindman's words where there is any doubt about 'who he works for'.

The problem with Trump supporters is that you think that he should be supporting Trump- rather than 'his new land'

I have dedicated my entire professional life to the United States of America. For more than two decades, it has been my honor to serve as an officer in the United States Army. As an infantry officer, I served multiple overseas tours, including South Korea and Germany, and a deployment to Iraq for combat operations. In Iraq, I was wounded in an IED attack and awarded a Purple Heart.

The privilege of serving my country is not only rooted in my military service, but also in my personal history. I sit here, as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army, an immigrant. My family fled the Soviet Union when I was three and a half years old. Upon arriving in New York City in 1979, my father worked multiple jobs to support us, all the while learning English at night. He stressed to us the importance of fully integrating into our adopted country. For many years, life was quite difficult. In spite of our challenging beginnings, my family worked to build its own American dream. I have a deep appreciation for American values and ideals and the power of freedom. I am a patriot, and it is my sacred duty and honor to advance and defend OUR country, irrespective of party or politics

For over twenty years as an active duty United States military officer and diplomat, I have served this country in a nonpartisan manner, and have done so with the utmost respect and professionalism for both Republican and Democratic
administrations.

When I joined the NSC in July 2018, I began implementing the administration’s policy on Ukraine. In the Spring of 2019, I became aware of outside influencers promoting a false narrative of Ukraine inconsistent with the consensus views of the interagency. This narrative was harmful to U.S. government policy. While my interagency colleagues and I were becoming increasingly optimistic on Ukraine’s prospects, this alternative narrative undermined U.S. government efforts to expand cooperation with Ukraine.

The meeting proceeded well until the Ukrainians broached the subject of a meeting between the two presidents. The Ukrainians saw this meeting as critically important in order to solidify the support of their most important international partner. Amb. Sondland started to speak about Ukraine delivering specific investigations in order to secure the meeting with the President, at which time Ambassador Bolton cut the meeting short.

Following this meeting, there was a scheduled debriefing during which Amb. Sondland emphasized the importance that Ukraine deliver the investigations into the 2016 election, the Bidens, and Burisma. I stated to Amb. Sondland that his statements were inappropriate, that the request to investigate Biden and his son had nothing to do with national security, and that such investigations were not something the NSC was going to get involved in or push. Dr. Hill then entered the room and asserted to Amb. Sondland that his statements were inappropriate.

I was concerned by the call. I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign
government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for
the U.S. government’s support of Ukraine. I realized that if Ukraine pursued an investigation into the Bidens and Burisma, it would likely be interpreted as a partisan play which would undoubtedly result in Ukraine losing the bipartisan support it has thus far maintained. This would all undermine U.S. national security.
Following the call, I again reported my concerns to NSC’s lead counsel.

Really? Speaking about undermining U.S. National Security calls in doubt his loyalty to the U.S.?

Wow you really have drunk the Trump koolaid.

Vindman describes his devotion to the U.S. and because he was born in the Ukraine and has an appreciation for the importance of Ukraine- you question his loyalty.

You mean like Flynn?

Oopsie.

No charges have been brought against Vinderman, nor is he suspected in any kind of crimes. Flynn was charged, arrested, convicted, and is now in jail after a fair trial. If Vinderman is convicted of something like Flynn was, then I will speak out against him, but not before.

Thank god the nation is safe from that dangerous man. Who knows how many forms he would have filled out incorrectly if he wasn't brought to justice?

It wasn't the forms he filled out that put him in jail, it was his actions in working with another country illegally.

The man testified that his concern was for the Ukraine, for the Ukraine not having “bi-partisan support”. Since when is it his job to put the concerns of the Ukraine over the policy of his commander-in-chief? His own words and actions showed that he put another country’s well-being above his own. Or maybe the Ukraine really is “his own country” after all.

It wasn't Trump's policies that he was referring to, it was Trump trying to pressure the Ukraine into digging up dirt on Biden that he was concerned with. Why was he concerned? Because even in spite of all the crap going on over there, the Ukraine has been supported by both parties in this country, and he was concerned that if our relationship with them became politicized, the bipartisan support they have had for so long would go away.

Being an injured veteran doesn’t give one immunity when conspiring against your chain of command and for the welfare of a foreign country.

He was concerned, not because of loyalty to the Ukraine, but rather because if it was found out that Trump was politicizing foreign policy with them, it would destroy the bipartisan support Ukraine has had for so many years.

When the policy of the commander-in-chief is self serving and detrimental to the interests of the United States
