Its shut down because the democrats want a DACA bill which would give 800k illegals brought here as kids a path to citizenship and the GOP and President Trump have asked for the wall,end to chain migration,and end to diversity lottery and they refuse to do so. So they shut down the government over it. It can reopen whenever we get 60 votes to fund the government longer. President Trump has said there will be ZERO negotiation on DACA while the government is shut down so this is doing the democrats no good at all its just watching the clock tick down on DACA ending in March.
