The Mexican Constitution, Chapter II, Article 30, paragraph II, states that you are a Mexican by birth if born on foreign territory, sons or daughters of Mexican parents born in national territory. There you have it! Anchor Babies are not U.S. citizens! They are citizens of Mexican according to the Mexican Constitution.

They are only "US citizens" by default. If the 14th amendment was correctly interpreted and applied they would all be rounded up and deported. Mexico's constitution say they are citizens of Mexico. There is no doubt that tax dollars are spend on ER births of illegal immigrants but that doesn't support the assumption that immigrants illegally enter the country to have babies. In fact over 80% of these births are to women who have lived in the US for over year. However, the myth persists because if it's repeated a often enough, people will believe it.Calling them anchor babies is accurate. Women scheme to come here and give birth and then they get access to the welfare system. It's out of hand. Why haven't we put pressure on Mexico to help their own people?
