A purist conservative? FFS, people like Chip Roy aren't purist. They're just conservatives. You're problem is that you just simply can't understand how fucking far left of center 80% of the GOP has gone. You millennials have no idea what fiscal and constitutional conservatism is, because you all were either too young to remember anything before Reagan, or you were born after Reagan was in office.
FFS, look at the nation debt timeline. It was in the late 70's when it started climbing. And when Reagan took office, it took off like a damn rocket. And only came down a few years because Newt forced those spending and budget cuts. But it didn't take long for another big spending Republican to get back on Reagans course.
This is when (1980) the USD started becoming so over inflated. It's when the actual inflation numbers started getting skewed. They printed BS numbers ever since. Making out like Reagan cured inflation. They did the same thing with all presidents, including Trump since then. It's all a pack of lies.
The proof is the difference in the cost of living and wages since 1980.
In 1980, $5 was a half way decent wage. $10K bought you a luxury car. $30K bought you a nice house.

Make all the mistakes you want. Just as long as they're actual mistakes. But once you know the truth, and you do the same thing again, it's no longer a mistake.

To prove this, just look at the Peso. In Mexico, just 40 years ago, one could live very well on $1,000 per month. Today, you can still live very well on just $1500 per month. Food, rent, internet, insurance and a maid twice a week.
That's only a $500 increase in 40 years.
Here in the US, 40 years ago, you could live on $1000 per month. But you can't live on $1500 per month now.
