Recent College Grads Suffering In Job Market As Pres. Obama Asks For More Foreign Workers In Their Fields | NumbersUSA - For Lower Immigration Levels

And the left wonders why we accuse Obama of being completely out of touch.

Snip:

A new report from the John J. Heldrich Center for Workforce Development at Rutgers University has some discouraging news for young Americans graduating from college this spring. The center found:

Only 53% of Americans who graduated from college between 2006 and 2010 have full-time jobs; their starting salaries have declined by 10% over the same period of time.

But instead of trying to help recent college graduates find work, Pres. Obama proposes flooding the job market with more foreign workers.

Despite the numbers from the Heldrich Center report, however, Pres. Obama wants to add millions of young, educated foreign workers to the job market. These workers would directly compete with American college graduates in an already grim job market. While Pres. Obama says his plan would "strengthen our economic competitiveness and create a legal immigration system that meets our diverse needs." In reality, it would make it even more difficult for recent college grads to find full-time work.

When it comes to science, Republicans remind me of "The Think System" that was promoted by Professor Harold Hill.

The article mentions a report that says foreign students are not overrepresented in the hard sciences (STEM), which would be contrary to everything I've ever seen on the subject, but it only glossed over it.

That is the obvious reason for increasing H-1B visas.

If they are competing fairly in a LEGAL labor market - bring 'em on. I'm confident about Americans comepteting against anyone straight up.

You are aware that ‘NumbersUSA’ has zero credibility, yes?

And the left wonders why we accuse Obama of being completely out of touch.

No, the ‘left’ is well-aware of why you accuse Obama of all sorts of things: you hate Obama.

Otherwise remember that those foreign workers are entitled to due process rights while here.

What jobs are they filling, though? They may be filling a needed skill set that is lacking among Americans. The math and science fields, for example, have a large shortage of Americans with those skill sets.

Why do you care? Republicans don't believe in college. They are hotbeds of liberalism. They "over educate" this kids. Make them "think" too much.
