America Won Last Night

Candy -- your new avatar looks too much like Sarah Silverman to be taken seriously.. Just sayin'......

Anyways --- Something odd happened last night.. I actually started cheering for Obama for about 15 seconds. It was when he started leveling with the American people about ".... many of those jobs are not coming back".. And when they do "... manufacturing will need NEW technologies and less lower skilled workers"... For about 12 seconds --- he was telling the most important economic story of the election concerning jobs --- WITHOUT all the phoney hype and numbers..

But then -- my elation turned to outright jeers as he launched into how the "rich need to pay more so "WE" can educate the engineers required to do that".. And how GOVT needs to develop all of those spiffy new 21st Century manufacturing ideas.. NO -- Mr Dear Leader.. YOU supply the truth and the direction and WE WILL provide the resources and manpower without lawyers and politicians standing in the way. This dude has the childish opinion that we are all waiting on govt dweebs to invent and develop every tool required to accomplish the goals..

Also -- BOTH of them blew the question about "lowering my gas prices".. It's NOT ALL about drilling and leases, and extraction.. The gasoline price problem is LARGELY REFINING --- not drilling and extraction. And NEITHER of them was familiar enough with energy issues to point out that we have not built a REFINERY in this country for over 25 years, can't UPGRADE refineries without onerous permitting, and have 40 different govt mandated "SEASONAL BLENDS" that screw up pricing and distribution.. I wouldn't trust EITHER of these men to DICTATE an "energy policy"...

Also dissapointed that NEITHER actually points out that America IS ALREADY "energy independent" for it's electricity generation.. And they (especially Obama) conflate wind/solar/electricity with transportation.. When we haven't establish a WILLINGNESS to double the production and distribution of electricity to support such a policy.. Wind/Solar today have NOTHING to do with driving. And probably won't in the future either since it's likely that we will have electric cars alright --- but they will be fueled by hydrogen or nat gas via fuel cells.. Not charged directly off the grid..

I think she's quite beautiful. My av...not Sarah.

Obama did what he needed to do last night. He rallied the base and he got into Romney's face.

And Romney had just enough Weird Mormon Robot moments to make people thinks twice, like "Binders full of women"...

That is just too freaking funny, thanks for the laugh.:lol::lol:

Romney got spanked like a little boy being taught a lesson.

LOL You keep telling yourself that if it helps. Not only did Obama have to hide behinds Hillary Clinton's skirts by letting her take responsibility for Libya, he had to hide behind Candy Crowely's considerable bulk in the debate. Candy may have let him get by with his lies last night during the debate, but the truth is getting out today.

Gee, sounds like all you do is blame others for your own faults.

Would you explain if you can how I'm blaming others for MY faults by pointing out that Obama let Hillary take responsibility for Benghazi and allowed Candy Crowely to try to pull his fat out of the fire on his portrayal of Benghazi as a spontaneous protest? By the way.. How is it that when Obama told Crowley to "check the transcript", she just happened to have it right in front of her? Can you answer both of my questions or do we get more meaningless drivel from you?

I think Obama's plan last night was to make some passionate statements that he can use in his campaign ads. Romney has been using some from the last debate and I think Obama just needed some lines for his ads.

Obama was more aggressive, but his record still speaks for itself no matter how he tries to spin it. He's still trying to make the same promises as last time and the way he carries on, you'd think he was running for the first time if you didn't know better.

Even if Obama was as good as his supporters think, it's still too little too late. We don't need any more promises or bold statements. He has had 4 years to show us something and prove he is more than talk. He hasn't done that. What he has done is turn allies into radical Muslim countries and facilitated the ruin of the economy so he can rebuild it with a socialist one. The far left sees that as a plus, but not most Americans. The question I have is this; has Obama intentionally hurt us or is he that lame when it comes to fixing things? If he truly believes in our constitution and wants us to have jobs and a strong economy, he is a miserable failure. If, as I suspect, he is the leader of those socialists and Marxists that filled the stadium for the DNC convention, then he may be a huge success. All depends on what it is he is really trying to do.

I want all radicals to fail. If they succeed, our country fails. I know some want the kind of change that the far left has to offer, but there is no question that it is un-American. I say that because it's not what most Americans want and it certainly isn't how our country, the best country ever, was designed.

Blame the press, blame the media, blame the pollsters, blame the bureau of labor statistics, blame the moderator....it's all you can do Sheila.

Who needs blame.

Romney's headed into a tough job come next January, cleaning up after Obama's mess.

It's not going to be fun for him.

Obama can settle into a job in Chicago....maybe work at the morgue.

Blame is the presidents game. He's spent 4 years blaming Bush...blaming Republicans....blaming ATM'S.. and blaming a video. Anything that he could point to that would direct public attention away from his failures. He has failed to create jobs...failed to close GITMO..failed to bring people together..and failed to protect our consulate and embassies in the Middle East. Al Qaeda flags flew over 4, count them 4 sovereign U.S. Embassies on Obama's watch.
Even with a sympathetic and seemingly complicit moderator, Obama still wasn't able to even win a debate. Who are you going to blame for that? And Sheila?

You guys blaming everyone except Romney. If you were honest, you'd admit it. But you're not...so you won't.

As for the President; the 2 wars and Medicare Part D (coupled with a tax cut and refund for middle income Americans) left a very tough situation for the President--the Republicans admit that. Does he blame Bush? Sure. Does Bush deserve the blame? Yes.

PS: Obama owned Romney last night. You won't admit that either, will you Sheila?

EPL Soccer on ESPN this Saturday morning by the way. I guess you cons don't watch ESPN since they fired Rush a few years back but if you've gotten over it; the best club soccer in the world will be on display this weekend.

We beat Guatemala 3-1. About the same drubbing Obama gave the Governor.

What debate were you watching???

Not the one where the Stormin' Mormon showed the true nature of the Lyin' Liberal?

If you missed it, the LL actually said the reason gas prices were so high was because the economy was doing so well.....and if Romney tanked the economy, prices would go down.

Wha.?????

If the economy 'does much better' I won't be able to drive at all!

It's what economist call supply and demand. Supply is pretty static. Demand happens when there are more people buying cars, more fleet vehicles on the road and other demand for petro chemicals.

Ask an economist.

There is no debate about one thing; Clint Dempsey is fantastic.

What's the matter? Did Barack get in over his head? Did he shoot off his mouth and make promises he couldn't keep? After all, he spent a year begging for the job, did he not do any research into what the job entailed? It's not like he was a sitting senator or anything...oh wait.. Why yes he was. If Barack didn't know the condition of the country, then he has only himself to blame. If he couldn't do the job he sought, then he needs to step aside and not spend his time blaming his predecessor. Maybe had Barack bothered to do his job in the U.S. Senate, then the nation might not have faltered as badly. Maybe he could have hooked up with Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and realized that Freddie and Fannie were in trouble.
Are you having a bit of trouble dealing with the fact that Obama's failures are no longer so easily hidden. Damn those pesky debates that even with the moderators doing what they can to prop Obama up, the public can still see through. Not having that media filter to apply the dems caricature to Romney is a problem isn't it Candy?

Yuk.........yuk.......from CNN post debate poll last night...............

Bottom line: by 46-39 percent, the CNN.com poll respondents called Obama the winner. But asked who did the debate make you more likely to vote for, the respondents were tied between Romney and Obama, 25-25 percent.

Still, Romney won in other key areas:
*On who would better handle the economy: 58 percent Romney; 40 percent Obama.
*On who would better handle health care: 49 percent Romney; 46 percent Obama
*On taxes: 51 percent Romney; 44 percent Obama
*On who is a stronger leader: 49 percent Romney; 46 percent Obama
*On who is more likeable: 47 percent Obama: 41 percent Romney
*On who cares more about your life: 44 percent Obama; 40 percent Romney
*On who answered more directly: 45 percent Romney; 43 percent Obama

Clearly.........Obama clobbered Romney last night:D:D:D

But only to the k00ks.:coffee:

65.6 million saw Mitt get his ass kicked on TV alone. I have to guess that many more watched the debate on-line. We'll see in a week whether the momentum has changed. I think it will, since Obama reminded the American people why they thought Romney was a douchebag. He got in the "let Detroit go bankrupt" and the "47%" quip. He also exposed several Romney lies.

Crowley did a good job at keeping them to the rules. She probably shouldn't have fact checked Romney's lie about what Obama said in the Rose Garden on Sept 12th. But still, it was much better than the constant interrupting food fight that the first debate turned out to be.
