I'm baffled by people who seem to think the men who wrote and adopted our constitution had some sort of ESP, and could see the future.
Do you truly think Jefferson sat around contemplating freedom of speech vs. child porn on the internet?
Absolutely not. However, I do think he was concerned about the morality of what should be free and not free. There were buffers set in the Constitution for change in societies, but they were not meant to allow "everything" anyone could conceive of to be OK.
