America Is #1 in Police Killings Among Western Democracies

Here is the data pere millions for the rest of the countries:

• Sweden: 13 people — .133 people
• Norway: 3 people — .060 people
• Finland: 2 people — .034 people
• Germany: 81 people — .089 people
• The Netherlands: 24 people — .137 people
• England/Wales: 25 people — .042 people

Iceland, however, takes the cake.

The republic was founded in 1944 and the first time the cops shot someonewas in 2013. And we can’t use the “Iceland is anti-gun” excuse, either.According to PRI, Iceland ranks 15 in the world when it comes to per capita gun ownership.

US: 10,000 people killed — 35.0 killed for every one million residents

At long last it is not about gun legislation. It is also not about demographics and ethnic diversity - 14.3% residents of Sweden are foreign-born, almost 15% of English citizens are non-white.
Is it only about mentality? I seriously doubt that. To my mind, the problem is in poor working practices and different officer-citizen relations in the US. American cops pull the trigger when they feel threatened, European cops do it when there is a clear need for it.

leftist shouldn't use math, you really shouldn't, you suck at it.

Care to explain?

He/she can't. They never can. They troll and only troll.

First in crime rate, first in police killings... I'm not surprised. Police-citizens relations really differ in the US, cops are hated more and they're rather badly educated (IMO), but besides this we have much larger population.

The attitude from US cops towards citizens just amazes people in Europe. There is a general disbelief at the reasons for shootings...

If a mentally ill person has a weapon and is threatening you, back up. That is what other world police forces do... They are not

America has 300 million people with loads of criminals who think nothing of killing to get what they want.

The police should kill a few more.

I dont think this has anything with color. They usually quite polite as long as you dont try to walk away with your hand in the bag.

You're full of shit. If a life is in danger then cops must act, and they do in most countries. I've seen lots of videos to prove it.

People in Europe are amazed because they too have liberals running the media and liberals love to lie. People like you just gobble it up.

As far as violent crime, we rank 53rd in the world. Where's your outrage for the 52 worse?
All countries compared for Crime Violent crime Intentional homicide rate

"America Is #1 in Police Killings Among Western Democracies"

This fails as a false comparison fallacy.

Please check out the statistics provided in the article. Why do you think it is bad to compare the US to other countries, especially if they are doing better than us in certain aspects of their life? Comparisons can be irrelevant but not in this case. I am not saying we should compare America to Zimbabwe and draw far reaching conclusions. We are pretty close to Western Europe in terms of mentality and culture. So why not?

Tell me, which of those countries have a subculture that glorifies crime and defiance of police like the US? BTW that subculture is not limited to one race.

Everyone of those countries does a better job educating their citizens, and a better job making certain that as many as possible have jobs that pay a living wage, and none of them have to worry about not being able to afford their medical bills if they should get sick. Because of that, they have a much lower crime rate. The only problem with all of these countries is that many Americans think they are "Socialist" countries, and therefore the commies are coming, the commies are coming.

In other words you long to live in the former USSR got it.

So wait a minute....

You are claiming that 10,000 residents in the US were killed by the police?

You sure about that?

wow. If you were to look up "talking points" I have no doubt this post is in there as an example.

The American Police Force is among the most violent deadly Police Forces on earth. It actually rivals brutal nations like Saudi Arabia, Myanmar, Iran, and North Korea. So we do have a Police problem.

It's their training. You're actually required more training to be a hairdresser than you are a Police Officer. Something's very wrong with that. They're just hiring too many very dumb people to be cops. And along with the rapid Militarization, it's become a deadly combination. It's time for change. Time to train better and end this Militarization.
