is a term to describe any form of electronic music which puts an emphasis on tone and atmosphere over traditional musical structure or rhythm. Ambient music is often highly conceptual and experimental in style, while it is said to evoke an "atmospheric""visual" or "unobtrusive" quality.
Ambient did not achieve large commercial success, being criticized as having a "boring" and "over-intellectual" sound. Nevertheless, it has also attained a certain degree of acclaim throughout the years.

I thought this was a thread about a prescription sedative used for the short-term treatment of insomnia.

Be careful, because listening to that music can lead to depression, anxiety, aggression, agitation, confusion, unusual thoughts, hallucinations, memory problems, changes in personality, risk-taking behavior, decreased inhibitions, no fear of danger, or thoughts of suicide or hurting yourself.

There's a bunch of tunes on YouTube when slowed 800% give that meditative "Ommmm" sound. Parabola is my fave so far.

This music was in my head...and I hummed it A LOT while having the breast biopsy, while ink was injected into my nipple, and during my recovery after my mastectomy. It is a beautiful chant. And it works great to keep one calm.

And, I have a little story to add to it as well. As the radiologist guy was poking the needle in my supposedly numb nipple (4 times, all around the areole), the male assistant held my hand and actually began to chant and hum along with me. He knew the song.
