for the record-----BROKEN rib is not that much of an issue. The cracked rib is held in place by the intercostal muscles-----
ie it is NATURALLY SPLINTED. Sometimes the area is bandaged to
reduce movement during respiration but that can be a little dangerous----
in any case it is not uncommon for a person to be able to get
around------In many cases cracked ribs are MISSED even on Xray
