  • Joseph David Emerson, 44, faces the homicide charges along with an additional 83 counts of reckless endangerment and one count of endangering an aircraft
  • Emerson is believed to have been sat in the jump seat beside the operating pilot on board a Embraer 175 plane flying from Everett to San Francisco on Sunday
"An off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot accused of trying to crash a plane with 84 people on board has been pictured for the first time - as stunned locals on his street described him as the perfect dad, husband and neighbor.

Passengers have said they were told Joseph David Emerson, 44, had a 'mental breakdown' before he allegedly tried to turn the engines off mid-air from the jump seat on Sunday evening.
"

Thank goodness he was subdued.

His Twitter page is rather "interesting." He seems to be a pro-union and a strong proponent of government financial support of the airlines. Here it is from Nitter:

Jab psychosis?

.
It does seem that the pandemic exacerbated his obsessions. He was probably going crazy even before getting the jab. He's a big fan of powerful Dem politicians. :)

So the question to me is, why did he get so mad at Alaskan Airlines that he was willing to kill a plane load of innocent people so that he could cause a disaster for the Airline? His posts would seem to indicate that as a possible motive.

Maybe an underlying hatred which just could no longer be contained after the jab. There is a whole lot of novel crazy in the world since the jab.

Sounds like someone flipped his lid.

It's being reported that he claims to have been suffering from depression, and he decided to try self-medicating with magic mushrooms.

After being put in wrist restraints, he reportedly tried to open an emergency exit.

The DOJ page makes no mention of the drug use...

Yes

Joseph David Emerson, the off-duty pilot who tried to shut off the plane’s engines mid-flight took psychedelic mushrooms, court documents say.

"You shouldn't be afraid of flying. If it's your time to go, then it's your time to go. Nothing can change that"

"What if it's the pilot's time to go?"

The guy has been in court already and has pled not guilty for trying to stop the jet engines of an Alaska airlines flight. He claims he had a nervous breakdown and also brought in using magic mushrooms.
Has any poster had either a nervous breakdown or used magic mushrooms? As to magic mushrooms, do they cause you to want to do a dangerous act?

In this case, the pilot and co pilot were able to reverse this other pilots acts so the plane was not really in danger. But they charged the pilot who tried to essentially crash the airplane with multiple counts of attempted murder.

Pilots who are lawfully able to fly commercial airplanes do fly as both passengers and also can be in the cockpit as an added non functioning pilot.

I know nothing of magic mushrooms. So what effect do they have?
