In Venezuela formerly a place where tourism and a robust economy bolstered by oil and other commodities has since the years of Ultra hard line dictator Hugo Chavez, has become a a mere shell of itself.
Food has become so scarce that ordinary people have turned to crime in that they are now stealing food from public schools
Venezuelans now stealing food from school cafeterias as scarcity spreads

Reganonimcs sure failed us. Most of our middle class gone and all. Nothing pure is good and that includes socialism without the ability to create wealth.
What the hell are you yammering about Reaganomics? Look genius, if you are claiming or implying that this country was just having a ball during the Nixon/Ford/Carter years, you are burnt toast.

spoon, that far right reactionary rump raiding ranger, will blame the erosion of the American middle class on anything but the real cause: give the corporations anything they want.

Socialism isn't good for every nation in earth off course the United States and U.K. how promise Europe to be no Soviet Union glory when they won against Hitlers Germany. Then cold war begins and nobody wasn't satisfied until 80's then Soviets first break down was alert. Russia will have fun some Federation of Russia instead for Socialism. Or how has it in the 80's alleman??

Once again, don't make this personal.
Yeah I DO make the rules.
Don't go there. I already know what your thinking...Do yourself a favor, and I say this will candor, put me on ignore.
Have you noticed that you are the only one who posts the way you do? Instant personal attacks. Especially those involving sexuality?....
Don't leave yourself open to unwanted scrutiny.
I already gave you the opportunity to discuss rationally. You called me a "rump ranger"....If that is what you call civil. you and I are going to have a rather large problem.
Now, I have tolerated your nonsense long enough. Stand down.
I am through here. any response from you will be viewed as an act of aggression. Do NOT reply.

Be polite. Don't threaten me. That is the stupidest thing you can do. If you can't handle me correcting your silliness on the Board, better put me on Ignore. I do not tolerate fools.

To the OP: socialism and capitalism have mixed results when discussing its effects on populations and cultures. They have worked well in many countries and not so well in others.

thereisnospoon's first stupidity: "Have you noticed that you are the only one who posts the way you do? Instant personal attacks. Especially those involving sexuality?...." I deal with such attacks from the far right all ofthe time. So no I am not the only one, by far. Best practice for you: be polite, and you will get it in return. I have also shown you what happens when you get stupid. Bedefinitely.

To the OP: in America we have a dual system in which much of governmental support system is socialistic. Water treatment systems is one example. Fire, and first responder, and LEO are other examples..

Socialism responds...

"Scarcity has led to massive corruption at all levels, diverting products from the official state-run supply chain onto the black market.

"From the family that queues for hours and then re-sells some of what they’ve bought, to the state supermarket manager who diverts whole lorries full of products (in connivance with the national guard officers guarding the establishment), to criminal gangs who hire people to queue for hours and buy whatever subsidised products are available (threatening and paying off supermarket workers, national guards, supermarket managers, etc), to the nationwide director of the Bicentenario state supermarket chain who diverts ship-loads of products.

"To this we have to add a thousand and one different ways in which the private sector breaks the price regulation regime.

"Maize flour is permanently scarce, butareperas are always well stocked.

"Chickens are almost impossible to purchase at regulated prices, but roast chicken joints never lack them.

"Wheat flour can’t be bought at the official price, and bakeries use lack of flour as an argument not to produce the normal loaf of bread (the price of which is regulated), but then they are mysteriously able to produce any other variety of bread, cakes and biscuits, which we have to assume are made with flour.

"What’s behind this mystery?

"The fact that private wholesale producers do supply these establishments, but of course not at regulated prices."

Venezuela – A Last Warning

Venezuela is failing, as much as from leadership that does not understand managing economics.
