Paris was covered in clouds with drizzling rain through most of Saturday.

He was scheduled to go in the helicopter. Obviously the flight was cancelled due to the bad weather.

Going by car from Paris would had required a small army to mobilize with him without it being planned.

This is the correct answer. The graveyard is 55 miles from Paris and the weather would not permit a helicopter flight.

And of course, 55 miles is WAY out of the range of an automobile. That's why Trudeau and Merkel and the 92-year-old Queen of England couldn't make it either.

Trump did ditch his umbrella for a cemetery visit in France the next day — where he complained about the weather. But when he returned to the U.S. on Monday, Trump didn't make a traditional Veterans Day appearance at Arlington National Cemetery. And as France's U.S. Embassy displayed in a tweet, the weather was perfect.
