A 4-year-old girl was reportedly shot in the foot on Monday by her 2-year-old brother who found a gun under the couch in the living room of their Memphis, Tenn. home. The boyfriend of the children's mother has been arrested and charged with child abuse and neglect and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, WMC-TV reported.
The children were playing with the gun, which was left under the couch by the boyfriend, Charles Sanders, according to the station.
Sergeant Mickey Keaton of the Shelby County Sheriff's Office told the television station that the young girl "wasn't severely hurt, so we're thankful for that."
Keaton suggested the use of gun locks and secure storage to prevent such accidents.
"They're your children," Keaton said. "It's up to you to keep them safe."
That's right, we need to teach women that #1, it's stupid to have children out of wedlock, and #2, if you choose to raise a child by yourself, keep your serial fucks away from them. The #1 threat to children is their slutty moms' boyfriends.
