absurd decision on Obama makes a mockery of the Nobel peace prize
Actually no. Republicans live in a delusional fantasy world where it's them and God against everyone else. Republicans don't understand the depth of the fear they caused the rest of the world during the Bush years. Some pols showed that there were people who felt the US was the most dangerous country on earth. Especially after the US invaded Iraq.
Look at the current Republican party, death squads, kill grandma, Obamas an illegal alien? Other countries have those same types of crazies and loons. Imagine how much crazier they became after Bush let Bin Laden go and, out of the blue, attacked some other country?
And look at what the US let happen. The Christian population of Iraq murdered or chased out of their homes. How does that make Christians in other countries feel about the US?
The American right wing is in denial about what happened to the Iraqi Christians, but the rest of the world knows the truth. This award was given to the American people for finally rejecting insanity.
The NPP deliberately made a mockerly of the conservatoid Bush administration. It was a deliberate slap in the face of Bush and all of his rangers.
Rightly so.
The international community chose Obama to reject the Bush years. Smart international community.
Why did they do that just now? G.W. is gone. He's got no affect on ANY current U.S. policy. He adds no input to the national discussion of events, has no affect on the future of the world. So... why would a group of people, whose stated goal is to recognize achievement in the pursuit of world peace, bypass candidates who have risked EVERYTHING toward that end, only to publicly award a man who has accomplished nothing?
You're telling us it was simply to tweak George Bush's nose? Really?
...Seems unlikely to me that they'd risk their reputation for so little gain. But, by all means... do educate the class.
WHY?
What's funny about all this talk of who the Nobel Committee is "making a mockery of"... is that it's YOU. All of you. All of us.
They think they can manipulate our foreign policy and our democratic elections. They think they can forward their crappy socialist agenda by artificially inflating Barack Obama's prestige at a minimal expense to their own.
And half of you are "useful idiots", cheering them on rather than recognizing an insult to your intelligence for what it is.
not if Bush had got it for doing NOTHINGWhy did they do that just now? G.W. is gone. He's got no affect on ANY current U.S. policy. All of the "He doesn't deserve" it talk is immaterial. He won it for a lot of reasons. This is going to be a telling 4 years in terms of world peace and I think the Nobel committee is trying to (hopefully) nudge our president towards a more peaceful foreign policy.
And please, conservatives, let's be honest for one second here...if GW had gotten the Nobel you all would have been creaming your jeans. Because YOUR GUY won.
Well, Obama is YOUR GUY now so just be happy. Shit!
Barry is on the air now talking about how much he 'deserves' it.
What a douche.
On the contrary, he said no such thing. He basically said that although he hadn't actually accomplished anything to deserve the Peace Prize, he was humbled that his goals were being taken seriously. He said that the prize should be shared with all those nations whose goals are the same.
Of course Michael Steele had to come out and lambaste the president, without even a conciliatory congratulations, for not deserving the medal. Way to go cons. First celebrating that the U.S. did NOT get the Olympic bid, and now criticizing a United States President for winning the Nobel Peace prize.

No. The problem is you and all your other armchair soldiers out there who are gung-fuckin-ho about solving everything with bombs and death.
Diplomacy is the only thing that's kept up from blowing ourselves up by now.

These are the kinds of things that need to be brought back up in the Fall of 2010.
not if Bush had got it for doing NOTHING
i would have laughed at the Nobel committee then also

These are just bullshit deflections because you have no logical answer to the question. It's G.W who is immaterial to the equation. He's gone. No bombs. No death, save that ordered by YOUR Annointed Grand Messiah.
So... if you can spare a moment from jacking off to your Barack Obama blow-up doll, how 'bout you fill in for the last guy who apparently had no reasonable answer as to WHY the Nobel Committee saw fit to bypass nominees who had acted heroically in the cause of peace and instead awarded it to a "present"-voting putz like Barry.
That, or you can go ahead and continue as just another mindless bobble-head for the Eurotrash Socialist Movement. Afterall, it's not possible for your intelligence to be insulted by their Nobel selection... if you're sadly lacking of any.
It was a joke way back when unabashed warmongers Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were given it.The brits are not as easily fooled as some of our Barry lovers bones.
The award is a joke now, not an 'honor.'
It's funny.
You can tell a lot about someone by the way they argue.
I don't "worship" Obama. Quite the opposite. I'm actually very critical of him. And I'm sure you read my signature. I use that as my signature to see how many conservatives accuse me of it anyway.
I'd say it's about 75%.
And you're one of them.
So I'm not even going to give an actual thoughtful response to your stock answer to anyone and anything you disagree with, "Ohh...why don't you just pray to your messiah, Obama??" "Ohhh.....you're a Barry, Barack, Husien, Obama lover, go beat off to his pic!"
You have proven to me you're an ass-hat.
I'll make a note of it.
