Elsewhere today I read something which captures how I feel about Obama's race -- it is one of the few things which is good about him. His election sends the message to young people of color that if they try hard and stay in school, the sky is the limit.
Gotta reach deep to find other good things about him -- the easiest to think of being that he seems to be a good father.
The next best thing I can think of offhand is that he means well and thus his incompetence in spite of his good intentions is a priceless testament to the weakness of the political philosophy he advances. In Obama we have a monument to the harm which can come from giving the government too much control over our lives -- no matter how well-intentioned elected officials and government workers may be.
