Zone1 about John the baptist

Why do you claim they were Essenes?
Everything from Qumran sources makes it abundantly clear that the Gospel stories emanate from the Essene culture .
The two families , Elizabeth and Zacharias with their son John , and Mary and Joseph with their son Jesus , were from the Nazarene sect and therefore Essene .

The Cult Christians hate being reminded that both John and Jesus were Essene Priests and Zealots
Like our Palestine Freedom Fighters -- They wanted Freedom and finally were prepared to resort to violence to achieve it .

Do you really think the Zealots used to go around saying :-
"And the first shall be last "
And, " Ask and it will be given " ?

That level of sentimental drivel is one reason that "Nice" and sanitised Cult Christianity is fast disappearing .
That is , you have to be rather simple to believe it .

This tells us that Jesus was not a Pharisee. Jesus did not join the Pharisees in any of their alleged reformation objectives. On the contrary, Jesus opposed the Pharisees, and even threatened to slaughter them.

Try talking sense in that case .

He was a right wing ( modern parlance) Essene priest .
A zealot .
Which is why both Rome and Jerusalem had him as their most wanted .
Far more influential than his cousin beforen he mislaid his head .
His cousin was an Essene monk who effectively replaced him .

Try quoting other real sources
not quite---John Mikveh man was cousin to Jesus. Both were Pharisees and, therefore
enemies of Rome and the minions of Rome. The source is called "the new testament"
The Essenes were also ---most likely, Pharisees who had fled Rome infected Judea
to isolated enclaves in the desert. John, mikveh man, is consistent with the kind of
people who fled into the desert and developed commune type living---but there is
no clear evidence that either of the cousins had been in an essene commune

Yet History and not some silly holy screed, shows he was a dime a dozen. Many like him proclaiming Biblical nonsense in those times.

Perhaps. They didn't write about all those others.

We know they existed because -- People did write about it. But there was no large cult-of-personality to keep them and their stories going.

Reminds me of people who believe Paul Revere did so much -- when it was other riders. We know more about Revere because of his salesmanship, and his family with the cult-of-personality that grew up around him.

The Dead Sea scrolls weren't written by the Essenes... they were just stored in the caves at Qumran.
Why do you think the Nazarenes and Essenes were the same?
