I don't think the Hamas leaders were happy to hear this from Abbas.

One day after Hamas vowed to continue its armed struggle against Israel despite joining a unity pact with Fatah, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told a group of Israeli peace activists that security cooperation with Israel would persist regardless of differences with the Israeli government.

“Security coordination is sacred and will continue whether we agree or disagree on policy,” Abbas told some 300 visiting activists during a meeting at the presidential compound in Ramallah, according to the Ma’an news agency.

But of course it will as the P.A has no chance of being able to defend itself from attack for any length of time. It needs Israel more than Israel needs the P.A or Palestine. Even if the Palestinians were given access to weapons they would still run out of money within a few days and the weapons would be just so much scrap.

Hamas signed a reconciliation deal last month with the Palestine Liberation Organisation, which is dominated by its bitter rival Fatah, in a surprise move that aims to overcome a years-long intra-Palestinian split.

"Any government that does not obtain the confidence of the parliament will have no constitutional legality, and Fatah and Hamas have agreed on this," Haniya said in a speech to Hamas MPs in Gaza.

"The legislative council (parliament) will also monitor the consensus government's work," he said.

Abbas scares me. He wants to negotiate peace with Israel & Israel would have to give in to many endless Palestinian demands. Praise be to Allah Abbas is nothing as the Palestinians duly elected Hamas to represent their dealings with Israel. Bye bye Palestinian demands.
