We have set up a system where unrestricted wealth flows from the middle class to the wealthy. 90% of the wealth is controlled by 10% of the population.
If our available wealth were a pie cut into 10 pieces. One person would claim 9 pieces while the remaining 9 people fight over the remaining piece.

Conservatives live off of dole. Look at the color of the states that send more money to DC than they get. Almost uniformily blue. Then look at the states that recieve more than the send, almost all red. We should put these parasites to work.

33 states and the District of Columbia get back more Federal tax dollars than they pay in. Ironically, considering the Republican Party champions low taxes and cutting Federal taxes, 21 of the 33 states who get back more than the taxpayers in those states pay in are also states who voted for John McCain in 2008. In effect, the wealthier Blue states are subsidizing poorer, more rural Red states...much as urban counties usually subsidize rural counties on the state tax level albeit the red-leaning suburbs of urban areas (map showing red and blue counties at bottom) subsidize the dark blue super-urban inner cities of metropolitan areas. The blue city propers typically are net receivers of federal funds.
Most people don't like to have their wealth taken away. (People are funny that way.) So if the government is to get away with legalized plunder, the politicians must make people believe that something else is going on. That's where the deception comes into play.
However, deception can be expected to work for only so long. People may stumble onto the facts and upset things. If the programs are to endure, the truth needs to be sufficiently obscured so that even if people try to take a close look, it won't be obvious what is happening. That's obfuscation. (Try to read any piece of legislation if you want to see how the people are kept from understanding what the government is doing.)

Mexico city--considered the largest population on earth-- 24 million estimated--& in poverty ALMOST elected a President that promised the masses everything at the expense of foreigners. Of course, that would be foreigners who invested money in hotels--etc. for tourism. All of the tourist resorts that many Americans & Canadians frequent every year in Mexico.
It was a very close election. But to all those Mexicans that work for tourism in that country decided they were going to vote for Calderon--because he was the promoter of foreigners coming in to build these huge resorts with the jobs & income to nationals that would provide jobs.
Tourism in Mexico is their 2nd largest industry. So if Mexicans can get it-why can't Americans?
