Liberals object to these things under Obama every bit as much as we did under Bush. In fact, that is a large part of what has soured me on Barack Obama. I expected him to discontinue Bush's abuse of power, and for the most part he has not done that.

The "real" liberals and lefties that I know generally refer to Obama as Bush's third term.

Some of them will probably vote for Obama in 2012, simply because although he's not want we want, he's still better than the other guy. There never has, nor will there ever be, a candidate that I could completely support.

I personally don't vote in Presidential elections, usually. I didn't vote for Obama in 2008, and doubt I'll vote for him this year. But if I was going to vote, I'd vote for him over Romney.

My brand of liberalism stems around things like freedom of religion, equal rights, justice, humanitarianism, freedom from oppression in government and just all around social reform.

Lastly, most liberals today oppose things like the NDAA. Your head is typically too far up your ass to see that though. You make up your own stories, your own blanket statements and your own views of other peoples views. I'm strongly against NDAA, which is why I won't be casting a vote in this upcoming election.

I also question the Government at every step. But again, that head up your ass thing. You don't care or pay attention when people like myself make a big fuss about the oppressive overreaching of government when it happens. Things like the NDAA, patriot act, war on drugs, SOPA, PIPA, ACTA etc.

I'd say that a lot of my beliefs share that with "classic liberalism"... but I don't consider myself a "classic liberal". It's a pointless specificity.
