A Party Divided

Ronnie Meatball was supposed to be their savior in case Trump tanked. Well Trump hasn't tanked, and Meatball seems to be losing his flavor with GOP voters already. He's already looking like another Jeb Bush in 2015-16: a much hyped campaign by political insiders and wonks that flames out once real voters weigh in and size each candidate up against each other.

Trump has strong support among most Republicans.

The GOP needs to unify its members.

Your nation needs to unite. You've become like Canada where both sides are of the same coin. You will experience fewer freedoms and more abuses by the covert apparatus, look at the desperate, dishonest Canadian riff-raff I have to deal with. Do the LEOS on here REALLY believe they joined this site because I am some kind of advanced, super genius threat to society?

Think a little please...

Let's view this objectively and honestly, with an example. I recall warning people who yelled loudly that the U.S needed spies in mosques that it is a slippery slope and has to be used in only the most extreme of circumstances. These same people are now demanding to know if Catholics were being targeted. It is different now, an uncomfortable feeling when they might lose their sanctity of privacy.

It's difficult for human nature to appreciate how harming another may eventually lead to harming themselves and future generations. Compassion, logic and empathy are in short supply today.

We need a strong, united America based on a basic set of shared principles.
It appear these core principles are embraced by fewer and fewer

He sure does. That is clear.

It's also fairly clear that unless there is some sort of major downturn in the economy or some other crisis, Trump will likely lose to Biden a second time.

The only way that doesn't happen is if a major third party movement gets off the ground, which is a possibility but hasn't happened as yet.

NOBODY from Florida has ever been a US President and the 1st won't be DeSanto.

If the party underperforms again in 2024, it will have to decide if it's time to return to decency and comparative intelligence. That Trump, MTG, Boebert and the crew paint the picture in a shitty light with their counterproductive temperaments and anti-intellectual behaviors.

More likely, though, it would just assume the elections were rigged and that they're victims.

They will go where the votes take them. An intelligent, reasoned approach would require voters who responded to such. I'm just not sure the R's can cobble any of that together.
