Conservatives accused of seeking Brexit favours after backing Hungary's authoritarian leader Viktor Orban

Conservatives have been accused of seeking backing for Theresa May’s Brexit plans, by supporting Hungary’s authoritarian leader Viktor Orban in a crunch vote in the European parliament.

All but two of the party’s MEPs swung in behind the far-right populist leader in a bid to block the European Union from censuring him in an unprecedented move.

I have put a question mark because their dirty deal with the DUP is right up there.Taking back control should not be about supporting nazis.

OK, I'll bite.

The EU is crumbling. Just today, the Polish President Andrzej Duda declared that the EU is ‘imaginary’ and has little relevance to the Polish people today.

Meanwhile, the EU just passed another ‘international law’ without any input from you Brits. The bill they passed has a controversial copyright directive that contains provisions which force tech giants to install content filters and sets in place a potential tax on hyperlinking.

Poland and Hungary are not central to the EU.They are both welcome to fuck off back to the poverty they came from. That isnt going to happen as they both know where their bread is buttered. That is why Orban was arse kissing trying to put off this vote.

Tory MEPs criticised by Jewish and Muslim groups for Hungary vote

At least the tories have achieved a historic first . They have united Jew and Muslim.

Jewish and Muslim leaders have criticised Conservative MEPs for voting against measures to censure Hungary, saying it was deeply worrying that they had declined to condemn the repressive policies of the Hungarian prime minister, Viktor Orbán.

The European parliament voted on Wednesday to trigger the EU’s most serious disciplinary procedures due to policies in Hungary to reduce judicial independence and boost control over the media, as well as concerns about corruption.
