I am sure that federal and state governments were almost all corrupt during the “roaring twenties.” Indeed, it was an anti-corruption “moral majority” campaign that originally resulted in Prohibition. Did any of that mean we should not have prosecuted the mobster and bootlegger Al Capone?

I suppose Dems could argue that if there is an abstract moral “categorical imperative” to not prosecute Trump — and instead we must vote for him [!] — after political crimes like trying to get V.P. Pence to throw out state validated electoral votes so he could remain in power … then V.P. Harris has the same “moral right” to reject electoral slates for Trump!
