According to the story, there was an agreement between the mother and father to vaccinate the child, then the mother decided to change her mind. There's a lot of missing information, but if there was a legal agreement during the divorce about child care which included vaccination, and the mother is ignoring that, she doesn't seem to have much of a leg to stand on.

There is a contentious separation/divorce involved. The father wants the child vaccinated. The parents supposedly have joint legal custody. Do you think the mother should have all the say in the decision to vaccinate the child, and the father gets none?

It isn't as though the state just told the mother she needed to vaccinate her child out of the blue.

I had every shot in the book when I was a kid. I don't recall anyone in my day having complaints, because many knew of kids trapped in iron lungs due to polio.

It's not just for her kids' benefit. Vaccinating all aids in the eradication of disease.
