Child porn ring leader beaten to death at detention center, authorities say

MILAN, MICH. (AP) — A New York man sentenced to 40 years in prison as the leader of a child pornography ring died after a fight involving seven inmates at a federal detention center in Michigan, authorities said Friday.

Christian Maire was involved in an "altercation" Wednesday at the Milan detention center, about 50 miles southwest of Detroit, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons said.

No details of the fight were released. But the government said Maire's death was being investigated as a homicide. He was from Binghamton, New York. Three other inmates had serious injuries, and two staff members had minor injuries.

I agree that child predators have a harder time in prison, but from what I've read Dahmer was actually killed for disrespecting another inmate. Prison inmates have a fucked up "code of honor". You're probably more likely to get killed for disrespecting the wrong guy than for being a child predator.

You don't know what you are talking about. These killings are rare because the pedo offenders are almost always isolated from the general population, or housed with fellow pedos. Also, if you can read, there is no mention of what the fight was actually about. With convicts it could be anything from stealing toilet paper to sitting in the wrong seat. It could be they found out what he did and if so it is likely an employee tipped of the cons. If that is what happened.

I agree that child predators have a harder time in prison, but from what I've read Dahmer was actually killed for disrespecting another inmate. Prison inmates have a fucked up "code of honor". No. The guard left the area where he was cleaning open and they went in and beat him to death. Dahmer wasn’t kept in general population because they New he wouldn’t last a Day. Anyone I have ever locked up for any sort of child abuse don’t last in prison so they put them in a different area. My brother worked in a jail and he can tell you some stories.
