a bit different, but good
it is a great poem.
read it last year tho.
I'm like the guy from the post, I see a lot of these, this one got by me. I liked it.
I almost started to cry. One grandfather was in the navy in WWII, the other in the army. My dad was a rear gunner in a rescue chopper in Vietnam. All three men survived their wars, but are passed away now.
I recently read a biography of a Saudi princess. The way women and especially young girls are viewed and used in that country made me nauseous. I believe it is similar in much of the Middle East. The sex trafficking is disgusting. I just keep thinking over and over... there, but for the grace of God, would I be, and my precious daughters. Imagine if we had had a different type of president on 9/11. Imagine if no one would volunteer to serve in our troops. Our daughters could be in danger of this treatment.
It gave especial poignancy to that poem, to think of our men and women standing between us and a culture so far removed from our own. Thank God for our troops!
