To answer your question... "no", at least not any sane person....

The Internet has become central to our economy. This is just an unvarnished move by the UN to become a world government.... I can see it, the US doesn't cooperate with the UN on a major issue, they shut down the ".com" domain (that means that every site whose address end in ".com" stops working). They will have the power to monitor email, transactions and so on ... it would be what the libs in this country imagine the Patriot Act to be, but on steroids. Handing over the Internet to the UN is like me putting my testicles in a guillotine with my ex-wife holding the rope then hoping that she doesn't pull.

I'm not worried that Bush or this Congress will ever consent to such a thing. I am worried that someday, we'll have a knucklehead in the White House (like John "F***ing" Kerrey or worse yet, another peanut brained Jimmy Carter) who will hand over control to this body of bumbling idiots, underhanded villains and downright corrupt swine in the interest of "multilateralism". Or a Hillary, who'll hand over control so that she can keep tabs on her political opposition but not have to account for it.

Can't say I do. Can't say I want the UN controlling anything. If they dump Kofi, and show they they can control themselves... I still wouldn't want them to control the internet. There isn't anything wrong with the way things are on th internet now, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Good analogy considering their handling of the Oil for Food program.

I just read a book called "The Official Handbook of the Vast, Right Wing Conspiracy." There's a chapter called "Let's Tear Down the U.N. and Put Up a Starbucks."

I went trick or treating for UNICEF when I was a kid. I wonder, what did they do with that money? They probably went ahead a paid off some third world dictator with the $3 or $4 I raised for them..... maybe I ought to investigate? :)
