Jay Leno landed a knockout punch on the IRS:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=ENG0a7bM8ys]Jay Leno: Obama Should Close IRS Instead of Gitmo - (NewsBusters) - YouTube[/ame]

Leno’s humor aside, here is the kind of fight Tea Party conservative-Republicans should be having:

Hours before the House Appropriations Committee held a hearing on political targeting at the Internal Revenue Service, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) had a simple solution to the agency’s problems — get rid of it altogether.

Mr. President, if your #1 priority is fixing the problem, let’s abolish the #IRS and ensure it NEVER happens again!

— Senator Ted Cruz (@SenTedCruz) May 16, 2013

Former Rep. Ron Paul (R-Tex.) has frequently called for the abolition of the IRS. He would have gone further than Cruz by also eliminating the income tax.

Ted Cruz: ?Abolish the IRS?

Ron Paul is retired, so a wannabe, or a guy in office, should jump in and call for repealing the XVI Amendment.

NOTE: The Tea Party movement must not let Karl Rove and the media referee the fight.

I do have one objection to Senator Cruz’s position: It sounds a lot like tinkering to make it work better:

Irrespective of the size of the tax form, so long as the federal government taxes income nothing will change. So long as there is a tax on income all of the evils created by the XVI Amendment will be funded by labor performed in the private sector; the welfare state, the parasite class, foreign aid, open borders, the education industry, bailouts, and so on.

And let’s not forget that that predatory monster the Affordable Care Act will be funded by the tax on income. As sure as night follows day the monster will devour working Americans, and the Constitution, no matter which government agency administers it.

Big Mouth Biden is wrong again. It’s not two freshman senators leading Republicans that has the Mouth running scared, it’s what they stand for that has Biden trying to tell Republicans what to do:

Incidentally, how come Biden is not leveling the same charge against freshman senator Marco Rubio and his immigration bill? Answer: Biden knows it is a Democrat wish list come true.

The reason I never attended a tea party was because it was never about taking our nation back. It was about keeping everyone busy with a group that was guaranteed to go nowhere, keep them spinning their wheels while the real issues were never addressed. They still have not been addressed. imo. - Jeri
