The first amendment protects us from coerced suppression, and only government is authorized to do that. The first amendment doesn't demand that other people listen to our ranting or provide us with a platform.

Seriously, it's nothing personal, but this is a sad misunderstanding of what real freedom of speech is all about. The point of view you're expressing here is exactly the same upside-down conception of freedom that leads to idiocy like ACA and public accommodations laws. The freedoms protected by the Bill of Rights are protections against government incursions - they don't require other people to cater to us.

The first amendment means that no laws can punish you for expressing your views, no matter how much the government may dislike what you have to say. But it doesn't require anyone else to listen to you, and in fact, protects THEIR right to tell everyone else that you're full of shit, THEIR right to organize boycotts against you and THEIR right to tell others that you should be ignored.

It's a violation of freedom of speech when government passes laws that limit what you can express to others. It's not a violation of freedom of speech if someone organizes a boycott against you or kicks you off their message board.

First Amendment protections apply only to government efforts to restrict the speech and free expression of citizens.


The First Amendment does not apply to private persons, who are at liberty to call for boycotts, contact advertisers, or otherwise express opposition to the speech of other private persons.


It's the fundamental nature of our free and democratic society.


And the nine persons listed are in no way 'jeopardizing' our freedom of speech, it's ignorant idiocy to maintain otherwise.
