6" groups, 600 yds, AR15/223, quite feasible.

Handloading The .223 Remington For The AR15

Note, nobody gets rapidfire repeat hits on men at 600 yds, with any rifle, cause men start DODGING and using cover when they get shot-at. Also, it's not true that you can't mag feed 80 gr VLD 223 bullets. you CAN, for a total of 3 shots, if you notch out the front of the magazine. Also, the rest of the mag can be full of 77 gr bthp bulleted ammo, the POI of which will be PLENTY close enough to that of the 80 gr bullets. :) you can also swap mags in a couple of seconds, and a hit (on a man sized target) every few seconds is all anyone can manage at 600 yds, with any rifle.

Have you ever actually been on a 600 yd range?

Because it doesn't sound like it from your talk.

Yes, 6" groups at 600 yards with an AR is doable. But with what barrel length?

Prison/con keeps raving about an M4 with a 12" barrel and a suppressor. I am curious if he has ever tried shooting at targets at 600 yards with that rifle.
