A knife-wielding attacker stormed into a 3-year-old's birthday party and slashed nine people at an Idaho apartment complex that provides housing to refugees Six of the victims were ages 3-12.

This is hearbreaking for so many reasons but apparently the only reason he had contact with that apartment complex is because a resident there trying to do a good deed allowed him to stay with her, but then had to ask him to leave (the previous day) due to some type of issues with his behavior.

Morality can't be legislated into the hearts and minds of those devoid of it. While it's wonderful to talk in platitudes about 'locking them all up', taking the shooty things, sharp edges, blunt fists and sticks and better screenings for mental health; it's just passing the buck along... shirking personal responsibility. U better be damn sure that if any gathering of loved ones is in a given place all grouped together, someone exercising personal responsibility should have some means of thwarting evil & not just dialing for mitigation after the fact.... if you get my drift & all.
